This evening I was saddened by an email describing how bulldozers are moving in on the home of a rare species of Orangutans in Indonesia to make way for a new dam. It’s terribly sad that in the name of progress, or more likely in the name of greed humans are trashing the refuge of dwindling species.
These are drawings I did of the Orangutans at the Metro Toronto Zoo. I admit I have a hard time going there because I find it difficult to watch caged animals. They deserve their wilderness, their homes. Some humans are truly terrible beasts.

Grand Old Orangutan.
